Outliers which are very large yet very infrequent
|
| |
Hi, I have a problem where outliers occur very infrequently (less than 0.25% of the time), but when they do occur they are very large. So large in fact that they have a small, but non-trivial effect on the variance and to a lesser degree the mean. This method does "blind" estimation, so I don't know that a value is an outlier when it occurs... more »

ID'ing Bias In Data ?
|
| |
I am drawing a blank on this one. I have individual county scores (numeric values, ratio level, scores by each county can range from 0% to 99% and I have over 2,500 county scores). I am guessing that States with more counties could bias the results at a national level, however, I am drawing a blank on how I can determine if the bias... more »

Is there anyone who is working on bioequivalence study two drugs and has the knowledge of outlier detection in the bioequivalence from statistical point of view.

Seeking Excel function for bivariate normal cdf
|
| |
For some simple calculations, it would be useful for me to have a function that ran in Excel and provided values for the bivariate normal cdf. The values would only need to be accurate to two decimal places. Many thanks for any pointers. Best, Paul

Let's play: toss a coin...
|
| |
Hi, I've a question about probabilities. I've already received help from this ng [1] (let me thank you all once again!), so I certainly won't be upset if you'll tell me "Hey, this is basic probability theory. Go study a bit instead of annoying us!" :) Now, to the question. Let's suppose that there is a game in which you have to predict if the... more »
